Student-Focused Teaching

Stephann teaches at both Undergraduate and Graduate levels and has taught a variety of Human-Computer Interaction, Information Science and Information Technology courses at the University of Hertfordshire, UCL Interaction Centre (UCLIC), UCL Department of Information Studies (DIS) and at the Centre for Human-Computer Interaction Design, City, University of London. His teaching ethos is firmly student-focused. His teaching sessions are interactive and focus on fostering conceptual change.

Stephann has taught invited guest sessions at the University of Limerick, Ashmole Academy and at the Faculty of Information and Media Studies at Western University, Ontario. Stephann is also an advocate of innovative teaching methods. His guest workshop at Western University, Ontario involved staff and students writing 'serendipity stories' about their memorable 'happy accidents' in their academic work and everyday lives and volunteering to improvise-act-out each others' stories.

Stephann received an award commending him for excellence in teaching and learning at the 2015 Vice-Chancellor's awards at City, University of London and has been awarded three departmental teaching prizes.
